Indiscrimination

Part of my spiritual training is to become indiscriminate, a process which I discovered takes a lifetime to achieve. It started when I became aware of my own voice and consciousness.

I still remember my childhood. The school I used to go to was run by the Chamberlain Church organisation from the US. Once the governors visited our school, and all kids ran towards and surrounded them. I observed from a distance, obviously they were very different from me, as they had blond hair and blue eyes and was very tall. I thought to myself and said, ‘Yes they do seem to have different feature to me, but nonetheless they are human’. After that thought I left and did my own thing whatever it was at the time.

I have met plenty of celebrities and known people in my time, but none to me is any more special then everyone else I know. I have found the more artificial and the more complex they become, the more distant and the lonelier they are.

I literally see people all the same; I disregard their fame, wealth, creed, education and societal position. In my book, we’re all very unique and yet we’re all the same. We must encompass all in order to see the totality, this includes the good and the bad, the light and the dark plus the entire grey in between. The Chinese Yin and Yang is a symbol that signifies the whole, which holds both opposites.

This also applies to the unseen or what we call ghost and spirits. I had a vivid dream one night when I was about 8. I was chased by ghosts and was woken up because I was so scared (it is funny that we’re can differentiate normal people and ghost in our dreams). I then thought if I would have been so scared that I died because of it, I would then become a ghost myself. And if I get to find out who scared me to death, I would beat them up! At this point I become clear that with a body we’re people, without it we become a ghost.

From then on, I was never afraid of the dark, because I came to the realisation that it is the subtle differences that make us what we are. My Sunday school teacher gave my name Daniel to me, because I was fearless in my age.

In the fabric of our society, we must have all levels of people doing all sorts of work for all to function properly. To me the so called low paid jobs like a rubbish collector is more important than say a managing director of a company. If no one collects our garbage then in no time our cities would be unliveable, but without the managing director, our world would still function. We also have a distorted view of the importance of status in our society, and have seemed to place the least important roles at the top. We should respect everyone’s positive contribution to our society, and don’t let our own awe distort our feelings or vision.

I’m sure most of you reading this agrees with me, no one is that special and yet we’re all special. Because the world wouldn’t be what it is without every single one of us/you.

Everybody keeps saying we're complex people, that we're this and we're that. These are all self imposed, hypno-pathetic ideas that we all been fed by our society. Most people do believe this and have ingrained this idea in their heads. When we become spiritually aware, then all is not at all what it seems to b. To me it is time to dismantle all that will keep us away from the truth, which is simplicity.

Life should be simple. If we don't have telepathy, then we use our hearts, minds and words to communicate. All we need is love and patience to convey to one another.

People tend to make themselves to what we call 'sophisticated'. They hide behind a facet of self-imposed complexity, mental barriers entwined in their own webs. In time they become lost, and develop all sorts of problems, which would then affect their mind and body.

I know that no one can be woken before they get enough sleep, but it could be useful for those who are about to.

Well said, Danny. I am glad to discover that I know someone who doesn't think celebrities are superhuman beings. For me, too, people are just people. Some of the most interesting people I have met in my life have been the poorest, and many have had little education, money and few opportunities in life. But they have lived life fully because life gave them no other choice and so they are among the most interesting, evolved human-beings I have been privileged to know. I have met some very artistically talented people over the years, but as people they were just like the rest of us, subject to the same foibles and displaying the same good and bad traits as everyone else I know. I don't know why, but I have never really been in awe of a celebrity. I guess at the beginning of the day, they have to put their pants on one leg at a time just like the rest of us.

I am a simple person. I love it that way and I am not ashame of it, but I am also unique! Yes, everyone is like that too. I agree with you and thanks for leaving me a note.

yes simplicity is the key... people run thru life making much complicated... and lose tune with what's important.
