For the encore, he took video footage of a drummer and live mixed it right there in front of us. He had a control box that had different things assigned to each button, so if he hit one button the kick drum would go and the corresponding image of a guy stomping the kick drum would show on the screen. He'd hit another button for the snare and you'd see the guy hit the snare. When he tapped out an entire song it was a audio visual mindfu*k. I remember watching in amazement thinking I was high when I wasn't, it was that mind boggling. Now it's 2011 and technology has come a long way as it's made complicated software easily available to the masses. This youtube video cut by KUTIMAN is taking that DJ Shadow idea to the next level. It's a song composed of video samples taken off of youtube. Video mixing at it's finest and truly amazing! The music created is not bad either. |
