While in New York, I was staying at a serviced apartment that had no recycling system what so ever nor were there any recycling bins anywhere near the building. Each time I threw an aluminum can or plastic bottle in the trash, I couldn't help but feel a little recycle guilt. So for 2012 I've decided to be more diligent about recycling. This is the system I have going in my house now:

So here's a typical piece of garbage. I was hanging art in my house today and this was the packaging for the hooks. One piece cardboard, one piece plastic.

Separate the plastic from the paper.

This is my recycle bin. For some reason no one recycles glass in Hong Kong so it's just paper, plastic and metal.

When the bins get full I take them out to the main recycling bins of my housing complex.
