It's been a couple days here now and am starting to get used to it. An old friend from college took me to a show that had Taiko drumming performed by members of the famous group KODO. It was so intense to see this guy drumming on the big drum for five minutes straight. You could see he was putting his entire body and mind into that one action. It took so much concentration, strength, endurance and energy to finish his routine it was amazing. Respect!!!
Antonio, Shiggy, Nao and Shiggy the ghost.
After the show my friend Shiggy took me to eat ODEN at a little small pushcart stand near a big pond in Ueno. Oden is like a whole bunch of different fishball type stuff boiling in hot water. You pick the ones you want to eat out of the pot. It was interesting and fun but I didn't particularly enjoy the flavors so much. A bit more bland than our Chinese style fish balls.
