Well, it finally happened, just not quite how I expected it. Last week, a gallery owner and artist that I know called me and said, "So, you want to have a solo exhibition?" To which I replied, "Absolutely! When?" That's when he let me know I had a week to get it ready. So much to do already and so much still remains undone. Finally got the image selection and printing done. Thankfully, his assistant is taking care of all the mounting on aluminum. However, I still need to do a write up, get the material to the poster designer, bug everyone to go and try to get some sleep. Chuck in a few deadlines for articles and several friends visiting from out of town and I am pooped. But who cares?!!? I've got my first exhibition in Beijing!
The opening for "Restrained" is Saturday from 4-6PM at Unit One Gallery in 798. The show will run for 10 days. I'll post up something a bit more formal on Friday, hopefully in Chinese and with a map too. So, if you are in Beijing, please come and check out the exhibition.
The space is small and the pieces are from a larger collection, so here's a taste of what didn't make the cut.
