Pat Lee Performance

It was brought to my attention on Friday from several AnD staff that it would be bad form for me to be in Hong Kong on Saturday and not show up at the Pat Lee performance.  So, we showed up around 6:30 in the evening, and things were well under way.  It looked like there were a couple hundred people on the sidewalk watching Pat work while someone was spinning the beats from inside.  Undaunted by the rain, people crowded round to enjoy this master at work.  I saw a number of artists whom I recognized, so I'm sure there will be more blogs coming.  Among others, I saw Berton Chang taking loads of photos.  It also looked like Mark was doing some video.  As I was packing Reina, my 11 month old baby girl, I only had a point and shoot. On Friday, when I dropped in on the AnD office to meet Mark, I happened to run into Andrew Lin - whom I recognized as the dude in the white shorts (safe to say I am among the most oblivious humans on earth when it comes to renowned artists).   When I saw him tonight, we roped him into posing for a photo.  He's a good sport.  As you can see, Reina is a huge fan; she never took her eyes off him to look at the camera. After a bit, we were preparing to leave to get something to eat when Reina started dancing to the music.  She was shaking her belly and her butt and then started waving her hands in the air.  Every so often she would stop to watch the expressions of encouragement from the people around her and then start again.  It brought a lot of smiles to people's faces, though, unfortunately, we did not catch it on video.  We will need to add some hip hop and rap to her collection of children's music.

On the KCR back to Shenzhen, a gentleman sat down on the train who had a peculiarly strong odor about him.  Not thinking to much about it, we quietly moved to the other side of train.  At the next stop, a gaggle of giggling girls got on and sat down around him.  They immediately began to sniff about trying to locate the source of the stench.  Then they applied lotion to their hands and began smelling them.  One even took out a Krispy Kream doughnut  bag and started taking whiffs of the bag.  Finally it was too much for them and they moved to the next car, but not before I snapped this one.

All in all, a great night with a fishing ending.
