HIDA BEEF @ SHIRAKAWA-GO

It was the 3rd day of the trip and we started from Nagoya and drove all the way to Shirakawa-go. It took us around 3 hours to drive there from Nagoya. After collecting the car and we went on to the higghway and we are there around lunch time.

I was hungry and we stopped over in one of the restautants which is around 5 mins drive from Shirakawa-go. Once I go inside, I saw a lot of people there eating and about to leave. So I suppose a lot of people eat there and food should be good. :-)

So once I sat down, I ordered a lunch set of Hida Beef which is also very famous. It costed 2,000 yen and it looked like the picture below. You have rice, Hida Beef, Vegetables, soup and a few other tiny nice looking dishes.

The beef this time is thicker and was cooked on a special leaf with some sweet miso together with the vegetable. The color of the beef was very beautiful and you can see it's still pink inside. It's so delicious to have something like this for lunch. The rice was very special too. I finished the whole set and not even wasting a single drop of the sweet miso.

Back to Hida Beef, I personally think that it's favour is not as strong as Matsusaka Beef.

Hida Beef is a bit more lean comparing to Matsusaka Beef but both tasted really really good.

I had so many beef in this trip and the next following days - I had another 3 days for Hida Beef since I then went to Hida and Takayama after Shirakawa-go.
