Hey folks,
One rare occasion do I get the pleasure sharing some of my favorite things. This being one of them. For the last couple year I heard rumors about a new Star Trek film, then they made Enterprise, the prequel series before the time of (dork alert) Christoper Pike and Captain Kirk. It had a run only to be dismissed by low ratings and the oddly situated UPN network (correct me if I'm wrong). I liked it, it seemed more realistic to contemporary issues of human nature and like unlike the original series where Captain Kirk couldn't act (if you watch Boston Legal, William Shatner rocks as Denny Crane, cause he can do anything).
But in all honestly I loved how bad the original series was. I was kitsch as heck but you got to love what kind of edges it pushed it that time. It was before Star Wars and it was made on TV.
This is revival will in the image of other remakes (Superman, Batman, Spiderman for example) will rebuild Star Trek as a more modern and serious campaign. I remember watching reruns in high school, probably my first introduction to the franchise. I loved it. Its so bad its good. For my 16th birthday I remember a couple of my friends bought me an authentic Star Trek badge. I'm such a dork.
Well more to the point, the new teaser is out. Check it out at http://www.paramount.com/startrek/
Enjoy!
