Last night I brought him out to a Shanghainese restaurant. I wasn't just looking for the a typical, I was looking of spicy. The guy was looking for something different and that different was three-alarm spicy. You see, the night before Don Cruz (of AudioTraffic), Dax and myself conversed of the hottest of hot, the god of spicy and the pain of Satan himself. 'Spiciness' as Don was saying is, 'Heaven going in, pain going out'. And if you've ever had anything to that level of spiciness you'll sympathize.
Now I didn't realize that a couple of nights before Don and Dax went and hotpot-ed up. Apparently the heat was on and the pleasure was, as said before, 'Great in, hell out'. Yesterday's dinner was about the same. A semi-well known in Mong Kok, good 'chilly oil dumplings with garlic', but the creme de la creme, chilly cooked beef. Chilly dumplings - easy, chilly beef - call the authorities. To make things short, it was not good on the way down. This song by Johnny Cash will explain:
