when i come around

My friend made a stop motion video of the guys back in LA doing our usual Sunday balling at Ramona Elementary.

I love this last image here. Three of my closest friends--Victor "VENGEANCE" Chi (the one with the ball), Marvin "REAL LAKER FAN" Lee (point) and Jeff Pang (black wifebeater) all in the frame--the three of them have different hobbies and interests now, and their lives couldn't be more different. But basketball keeps them from drifting apart.

That's how it always is. Basketball has kept me and my elementary school buddies connected for the past 15 years. Otherwise we woulda lost contact in high school when one turned raver, another turned punk rock, others turned AzN gangstas (you know, with the zero fade and all), and some were fixing up their rice rockets. Nothing in common, except when we on the court.

Fuck I love sports. This, along with music, brings people together man.

Now onto... game 7 Sunday...

Win or lose, Houston and Boston should be proud of themselves for fighting through so many injuries and refusing to fold. And if you ask me, the Lakers should be ashamed of themselves for letting this go 7 when Houston is missing their two best players, and another crucial backup. I mean this Laker team have the best player on the court in Kobe, have supposedly superior coaching (the overrated Michael-Jordan-made-my-ass Phil Jackson) and a front line that's a combined 20-25 inches taller than the Rocket's front line.

There is no excuse for the Lakers to drop two more games after Yao went out. This Rockets team have heart but they are lacking in firepower and talent. The Lakers have plenty of both.

The blame is on Kobe and Phil. Kobe is supposedly the greatest player in the world and the closest to Jordan. And at times even I buy into that propaganda bullshit. But really, Jordan would have never let the series drag on this far. He would have sniffed blood when Yao Ming went out, and he WOULD HAVE DESTROYED THESE GUYS. Okay, let's say the Rockets still win game 4 off their raw emotion and the surprise factor. But after that game 4, Jordan would have sat in his locker room fuming, and the next two games he would have dropped a combined 97 points, lock down the other team's scorer, all the while screaming "N**** please you can't guard me. All day baby all day!"

He would have taken the Rockets hearts and eaten it.

Let's not even talk Jordan, even Wade or Lebron wouldn't have let this happen. There is no excuse for what the hell is happening. Even Mark Jackson, aka the biggest Kobe homer on television, was bashing the hell out of the Lakers in game 6. And did you guys see Magic Johnson's face after game 4? He was embarrassed and ashamed by this Laker team. The man was angry.

This Laker team have no heart and play like they have everything in the bag. I will be LMAO if they lose and Kobe throws another temper tantrum.
