twestival

I attended Twestival tonight. A festival for twitterers of HK to gather.

During the first hour, people were tweeting that the direction to culture club was wrong, then outta the blue, twitterers already at the event were tweeting directions, in real time.

I know this because we had a live tweet feed at culture club. Outspoken anonymous blogger DarkSideHK tweeted he was at the event with a bunch of morons. I tweeted back requesting him to reveal his identity cause he's got a few fans there.

Crickets.

Anyway, aside from beer and food, Twestival organized a bunch of standup comedians to perform and the final performer, this Indian dude who speaks fluent Canto, US-style English, and Chinglish gave a hilarious performance. Absolutely hilarious. The festival must know cause they had him go on last after some flat performances.

I was gonna attend the festival anyway, but now I've got a proper gig, I figured I'm gonna get some scoops and pitch a feature or whatever. Talked to Jay Oatway, aka the most followed Twitterer in HK with 72,000. Also talked to Napoleon Biggs and Thomas Crampton, two online social media experts in HK.

I'll write about the Twestival for City Seen this week. Just briefly. Just a taste. I'm saving the big bites for a feature.

Oh and Jordan calling out Byron Russell still, to this day, is the epitome of Vengeance. I think if Bill Simmons were to update his awesome VENGEANCE SCALE (a 0.0 to 10.0 scale to measure the amount of vengeance in pop culture), he'll for sure have to add The Bride/Beatrix Kiddo going on her revenge mission at 9.2, Johnny Drama attacking a car with golf clubs at 7.4, Obama brushing dirt off his shoulders at 8.5, and Jordan calling out Byron Russell today--11 years he made him his highlight bitch TILL THE END OF TIME, and claiming that "whenever I see him in shorts I'm going after him"--at a 17.8.
