Over the Hills and Far Away

Yes! After basically not sleeping the entire Sunday night on through Monday, I've fixed my sleeping hours. I went to bed last night at 2am and woke up right now at 9:30, which is about as "normal" a sleeping schedule as I'll ever have.

Now I'm drinking milk, listening to some fucking Zeppelin, grabbing breakfast, then getting down to business. Feels good to start work at 9:30 instead of 2pm.

Interviewing Mr TM Lee, the creator of Holga camera today. I'm excited cause he hasn't done an interview in 4 years.

Potential new project and new direction. Still got long, long ways to go but a potential direction.

Entourage last night... there've been complaints from media people lately the show is getting stale--it's got no forward momentum. I think those cats are expecting too much. It's Entourage, not a TVB serial or Lost. We don't need crazy twist and development, I watch it like I watch a sitcom, every episode is a fresh start almost. We watch it because we want to see a fantasy-tale where a good group of friends stick it out and not let fame. money, power, jealousy, and chicks get in the way. But the whole E/Sloan thing tonigh.... sigh

Again, Simmons called it, like 6 years ago that the show will either have to go the whole "realistic gritty route" where jealousy among friends, backstabbing over money issues, happen or the show will be a puff piece, and Entourage is definitely a puff piece, which is a-okay with me. And if you read the piece now, it's amazing how dead on Simmons called it--the show should focus on E and Vince's relationship and not make the mistake of being too Ari/Drama oriented, which it has become.

This piece was written in 2004! He called it five years ago and now these other "TV reviewers" and bloggers are whining and crying about lack of forward momentum. Speaking of Simmons, I bought his buddy's book Blink yesterday at HMV. Shared that two books for 88 deal. Sweet deal. HMV is getting more books now, which is good. I'm not simultaneously reading like 5 books at once: Blink, The Road, IV, Sex Drugs and Cocoa Puffs, and two motivation/self help books that shall not be named.

I still want/need to go under the bridge to the city of angels though.

Sounds like you need a break. Can you get out to some of the more remote islands and hike for a day? Living in a city is good and well (I know, I did it for a while), but sometimes you also need to get away to get a different perspective on things.

If you can't get away soon for a real break, see what you can do to schedule mini-breaks into your week. I hear HK has some nice parks in and around the city. If the weather isn't cooperating, think of something really different you have never done in HK and carve out a few hours to do it. Break up your routine and indulge in some fun and relaxation. Too much work, no matter how much you love it makes you feel stale and tired.
