On my second marriage, hip hop my first wifey

I just talked to Jin. Interviewed him for this hip hop in HK feature I'm working on (I don't have the structure worked out yet but know I'm gonna start the piece with a verse from Nas' Illmatic, I'll be sad if the editors edit it out though).

I asked Jin what he thought of the locals misconception of hip hop and the "generic" style that they think is hip hop....the hip hop style so to speak...

"Hip hop is ever changing man... it's like a Transformer...naw not even, it's like a Power Ranger, it's ALWAYS MORPHING"

Power Rangers man, I watched that religiously weekdays at 4:30 after Batman The Animated Series (GOAT American cartoon show). My favorite ranger was Kimberly the Pink Ranger. She was hot. When she left the show it was never the same, although it was pretty rad when Tommy the Green Ranger fought an evil clone of himself and his eyes were glowing green.

I love Jin man. So hilarious, so down to earth, so friendly to everyone. That Power Ranger quote is GOLD.

Behold... THE ESSGEES Awards: celebrating the best of the decade!

Bill Simmons will be holding votes for best movie, band, scandal, sports moment, unintentional comedy moment and dumbest trade of the decade with the ESSGEES. It's gonna be amazing cause this is ultimately what geeks argue about all the time and with Simmons organizing it (which guarantees votes ), we'll have the arguments settled.

This is why Simmons is awesome, he runs hilarious stuff like this and he's also a legit journalist. Did you know he wrote about how the economy will hit the NBA and the young, spoiled athletes hard a year later than the real world was hit due to the salary cap and lockout agreement? No one saw that coming and it's coming true now.

Did you know he was supposed to interview Barack Obama in early 2008 but the interview was canceled by ESPN because of their public feud (Simmons hated that his stuff were being edited by the suits).

Looks like The Dark Knight will win Best movie of the decade at the ESSGEES.
