Kia, are you serious?

As expected, the league announced that Lebron will get his MVP trophy today. Check out the official press release. I've taken the liberty to highlight and underline the best part.

CLEVELAND -- According to a league source, LeBron James will be named the NBA Most Valuable Player this afternoon. James has chosen to have the announcement at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Akron. All his Cavs teammates are expected to be thereas well as representatives from Kia, which will give him a new car as part of the honor.

He will be the first Cav to win the honor in history and the second youngest ever to win the award behind Wes Unseld in 1969. James averaged 28.4 points, 7.2 rebounds and 7.6 assists this season, his sixth in the NBA.

HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA.

On a serious note. Lebron's MVP is well-deserved. Probably the second or third most impressive MVP season this decade (behind Shaq's 2000 campaign. No one from this decade touches that. Shaq in 2000 was on par with Magic-in-87, Bird-in-86, or Jordan-in-91 mode. Prime Shaq is in the pantheon).

I still don't understand the argument or case that people be making for Kobe this year. Have you seen Lebron's cast? Mo Williams, a shoot first, undersized point guard (the exact opposite of what conventional basketball wisdoms considers as good bball qualities) is Bron's second best player. Kobe has Pau Gasol, who's literally twice the player Mo is. Odom, or Bynum depending on your opinion, is the Laker's 4th best player. Simply put: the Lakers are stacked. Lebron's cast is probably one of the weakest ever for a team that wins over 60 games. And they win 66 to boot... freaking uncanny. Lebron Jame's season cannot be overlooked. The MVP alone doesn't fully describe how transcendent this is.
