"The Interns" had their second jamming session tonight, a fourth member was added on the keyboard. He's not a intern but a school teacher... so there goes our name. Actually, our other 4th member just got promoted from intern to staff writer at HK so yeah, we need a new band name.

After jamming session, T and I went over to the Wanch for live jam night. Bumped into a few familiar faces, including Mr Sweeting from Star TV and Paul from DP. Paul pulled double duty, first he played bass for one band then drums for another. Needless to say, the music was bliss.

Seeing so many talented musicians perform tonight, coupled with this EPIC Frost/Nixon-like debate going off about "artists" on another AnD member's profile right now (I'm not gonna name the blog, I've stirred enough shit for one day), it just reminds me what a shame it is that true musicians like the ones at the Wanch can't live off playing music and are forced to have dayjobs, while companies like EEG churn out manufactured "musicians" and they make well, not millions, but hundreds of thousands, I guess.

Anyway, as I sat there watching the band with Tom's guitar by my side, the beer girl came up to me and asked if I was the next band up (it was open jam night).

"Me? Naw I stink, I was just practicing earlier with my friends"

"After a few more practice, you'll make it on there"

You know, that made my day. Words of encouragement from a total stranger.

Hmmm. The Interns open jam night at the Wanch sometime??

BTW, listened to Bob Dylan's Like A Rolling Stone with proper speakers today. It's been one of my favorite songs for a while, and it's considered by many to be the greatest song of all time. I dunno if you can pinpoint one song to be the GOAT song, but I'd say Like A Rolling Stone is on the short list with Hey Jude, Imagine and a few others.
