heard 'em say

youtube is probably the greatest form of entertainment for most of us these days. especially during work.

here are some clips that ive been watching alot lately.

the first is a clip off the blaxploitation film Black Belt Jones. Blaxploitation flicks is a subgenre of exploitation flicks, but with black people. It's awesome. Think Shaft. Think Pam Grier in the 70s.

Black Belt Jones is played by Jim Kelly. Most of you guys will remember him as Bruce Lee's ally who gets killed in Enter the Dragon. Some of you may remember him from the Nike Lebron James commercial a few years back (superbly well made. Nike's got the best advertising team in the world, bar none)

HEY HEY LETS GO TO MCDONALDS

Alex Lendrum, of Brouahaha magazine says that the highlight is actually not the "hey hey mcdonalds" line but the last line by one of the extras--this brotha who says "yeah m'donalds" in a low voice.

Here's another awesome clip of BBJ kicking ass. My favorite part is at the 29 seconds mark.

"Who hit me?"

"BATMANNNNN MOTHERFUCKER!"

Okay. Now let's move onto some good music clips.

Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHvymn6a30k Okay, this is two dudes playing Mean Mr Mustard, Polythene Pam and She Came In Through The Bathroom Window. Three tracks off Abbey Road. I love the transition between the three tracks because it all connects--it's like one long epic song. I especially love the transition between Mustard to Pam (1:03 mark of this video) It's rad. It's why I basically don't even give new music a chance no more. I was one of the CD revieweres for Beats and I was so dismissive of new stuff that my editor took me off reviews. He said I only listen to old stuff like Stones and Dylan and hate on everything new.

He right.

90% of the time I'm listening to music older than the 70s. The other 10% are for 90s California rock or 2000s Radiohead, Strokes and Jay Z. I don't listen to anything from like, 2004 on. And I get packs and packs and packs of free CDs all the time. I see new Killers album or new Depeche Mode I just toss that shit to the side. New album from that British goon who dated Kate Moss, I listen to two tracks and the CD is given away.

Kinda sad I've become this "they dont make them like they used to" old geezer type. But hey, whatever.

here's kanye's hear them say. off late registration. so he's an idiot, but he makes good music. you can't say this aint good--he evne makes adam levine tolerable. and he's only the second weakest frontman of this era behind brendan flowers. even fred durst was better.

of course, i saved the two best for last

this is what happens when you push too many pencils.

And today... DWade destroys Varejao.

Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Q-Z1ROdn0c In what other sport can one person destroy/embarass/own another competitor like this? MMA and boxing dont count cause the sole purpose of those sports is to beat someone. But in basketball, you're trying to put the ball in the hoop--but if it means destroying someoe on the way so be it.
