Fucking communists got long memory

I did a group interview with Noel Gallagher yesterday. Notoriously outspoken, moody, and pissy, he didn't disappoint. He clowned other bands, proclaimed Oasis to be the 7th greatest band of all time (He then listed the six ahead... I forgot the order, but he had The Beatles at #1 which I concur), and he said this gem...

"China banned Oasis because I took part in this Tibet Charity gig 12 years ago, one that I don't even remember. But fucking communists got long memory"--Noel Gallagher

HAHAHA i love it.

I'm getting so sick and tired of China and their damn censorships. It kills me that Infernal Affairs, one of the greatest HK films of this decade, had to change their ending to please those backwards-thinking high horse riding commies (Andy Lau gets arrested in the Mainland version... which kills the entire point of the movie.). It's disgusting how controlling they are over everything. The worse part is they can't even be honest about it: China banned The Departed two years ago because the movie had Chinese gangsters, right...everybody knew this. But the official reason China gave was "we have too many Hollywood films releasing in China this month".

WTF?

I applaud those who speak up or stand their ground against them. Like Derek Yee. He knew Shinjuku Incident would never be allowed in China unless the film is heavily trimmed, so he just said "Fuck it" and skipped the China release altogether. That's admirable. He didn't want to butcher his film just to make that Mainland dollar.

Here's another example: Two years ago, when Chinese baller Yi Jilian was in the NBA draft and it looked like Milwaukee was going to pick him, those clowns up north claimed that Milwaukee was not acceptable and that Yi should go to a big market team (like a New York or a LA). Of course, the mainlanders wouldn't state the real reason, instead they claimed Milwaukee had "too man big men" and they merely wanted Yi to get playtime.

It was a laughbly stupid excuse and the entire nation of China was the butt of every US Sportswriters joke for a month. You can't blame Americans for being arrogant this time. That's a stupid excuse China gave. You can't give shit like that and not expect to be laughed at.

David Stern, the bad ass commissioner of the NBA, stood firm. He knew Yi needed the NBA, not the other way around. In the end, Milwaukee picked Yi and he had to report. And guess what? Yi sucked so in a a year Milwaukee traded his ass to New Jersey anyways.

David Stern is a bad motherfucker by the way. In addition to going against China, he basically ENDED HIP HOP CULTURE in the league with his dress code. There's also this rumor that Michael Jordan's first retirement was actually a suspension from Stern over his gambling behaviors. David Stern is the only man in the universe who can claim he defeated China, Hip Hop, and Michael Jordan.

So yeah, I think it's awesome Noel spoke up. Because the whole Oasis ban is stupid. It's not a British thing. It's not even a rock and roll thing. Although punk rock is all about fighting a system like China. People from anywhere who read about the Oasis ban would roll their eyes at the China government and their "rules".
