daily pick-me-ups

A friend told me that when he realizes he's sinking, he looks for something—anything, no matter how small—to cheer him up. And he focuses on it.

“Call it a daily pick-me-up,” he said. "You need to do that."

“Guy, it’s easier said then done,” I countered. “What, I’m just gonna have a ice cream and I’m gonna be in a better mood? This ain’t no movie, yo!”

Then he started quoting Jay Z on me. Well, actually he was quoting Jay Z quoting someone else.

“A wise man told me don’t argue with fools/cause from a distance/can’t tell who is who/so stop with that childish shit/n*gga you grown”

Ahhh. The climatic final verse in the verbal smackdown track known as Takeover. I know everyone loves Ether but I’ve always liked Takeover more. Maybe it’s the fact that Jay samples The Doors and references Bowie (LAAAAAME), but this track is killer.

Anyway, I’m getting off topic. The point is, the friend is right. I need daily pick-me-ups.

This is amazing because it’s not a half-assed return. He was in full Zack Morris mode. Even threw in inside jokes/subtle references that only fans would get—how the show went from its Indiana setting to Cali inexplicably, Kelly moving to a different zip code (90210), etc.

I loved the part where he lowers the picture of Kelly, just like from the first episode of season 2. And the Zack Morris phone?

Now this is RAD.
