COME ON NBA HONG KONG

It is killing me--almost literally--that I cannot watch the Bulls/Celtics series. I know the media is a hype machine and loves to declare things "the greatest this" and the "most exciting that" every year. But this Bulls/Celtics series really is one for the ages.

As my idol, ESPN Sports Writer Bill Simmons, already pointed out, this is the classic "aging, banged up team of proud veterans" fighting off the "young, talented, and hungry up and comers on the verge of greatness".

Five out of six games have gone into overtime. Ben Gordon and Ray Allen have both taken the "pulling up for ridiculous jumpers with game on the line" to another level. Conventional basketball wisdom suggests that with the game--and season--on the line, YOU ATTACK THE MOTHERFUCKING RIM. But these guys be pulling up from 20 feet. 22 feet. 25 and out. Shots that would make old school coaches like Pop or Jerry Sloan pop an artery...but these guys HIT THEM. Consistently at that. Just icewater in they veins.

It hasn't just been Jesus Shuttleworth and BG though. Rajon Rondo is playing possibly the best overall out of everyone on both teams, and Paul Pierce had that "don't you forget who I am, I'm the TRUTH" moment at the end of game 5 when he pulled up for three straight cold blooded jumpers.

Never before have I seen so many "one team's down by three with X amount of seconds left in the game, player A hits the ridiculous three to tie it" moments in one series. I think it's happened at least 9 times already.

Why is NBA HK shoving us Rockets games every week? Can't we vote on this shit? Just because there's a Chinese guy on the Rockets don't mean we actually want to watch. I have honestly never seen an Asian dude in a Yao Ming jersey ever. Everyone I see in LA or HK is sporting Jordan, Kobe, Bron, Wade, Iverson, etc. I even seen a Vlade jersey before. But Yao? Only time I see that jersey is in the bargain bin of the NBA store. This whole "Yao is crazy popular in China" is a myth. There's support for him in that "well he's representing China so we should at least not root against him" way. But no one is passionately a fan of his like people are of Kobe, Lebron, Wade, Jordan, Magic, Bird, AI, etc. Kobe got a bigger cheer at the Olympics than Yao. People still worship Jordan and his kicks have become iconic in pop culture.

I don't see no kids on the court impersonating Yao Ming.

Stop with this Rockets nonsense. Give us the games we want to see.
