So my friend tried to buy tickets to Summer IFF a few days ago and he told me 500 Days of Summer are all sold out, yet he was able to get tickets to Vengeance. A bit crazy considering Vengeance screening is in TWO DAYS and there's still a month to go for 500 Days of Summer.
Then I logged onto to urbtix and noticed that yes indeed 500 is all sold out. Meanwhile, just about every other film is still available. So the verdict is in: 500 Days of Summer is the most in demand movie of the Summer IFF.
I've got to ask the six Ws of journalism: Who? What? Where? When? Why? How?
Perhaps 500 Days viral online marketing is working? (A 500 Days of Summer Twitter account is following me on Twitter after I tweeted about the movie like once, so apparently they have a full time staff just logging Twitter tweets for mentions of the movie)
Perhaps the indie-ness of the movie won over the hip cats of HK?
Perhaps everyone is heartbroken right now and can relate to the story?
Perhaps everyone is in love with Zooey Deschanel?
Or maybe... perhaps JOSEPH GORDON LEVITT IS RAD.
ANGELS IN THE OUTFIELD BABY. This movie, along with Rookie of the Year, contributed to my 6 month fascination with baseball before I realized "eh fuck it, basketball is much better".
Danny Glover and Doc Brown is in this movie too. Talk about having good mentor figures for JGL.
Oh yeahhhh I got my tickets for 500 Days of Summer
