«Я – аутист, но мне удалось социализироваться и я чувствую солидарность к себе подобным, поэтому хочу, чтобы у них тоже это вышло. Я бы хотел дать надежду родителям таких деток. Ведь обычно думают, что мы, аутисты, недееспособные. Люди не должны относиться к этому как к болезни, ведь по сути, это просто другой тип мышления» ("I'm autistic, but I was able to socialize and I feel the solidarity like themselves, so I want to experience them, too, it happened. I would like to give hope to parents of such children. It is commonly thought that we, the autistic are dysfunctional. People should not treat it as a disease, because in fact, it's just a different way of thinking ") - Yura Tykhyy
This was last year's article but reading this made me think about acceptance and optimism since I'm also a person with autism - but classified as asperger. Especially my special friend (who is my beloved batchmate for the recent 7th ANCA Autism Fesitval) became the headline of the article.
Upon reading this quotation, it has relevance to my experience as I've learned to socalize and possess that skill since in my high school years.
While reading the whole article, I was in awe and got emotional inside (not really crying literally or moved to tears but my mind enlightened) to see, how he learned a lot from his long experiences dealing with autism where he also shares his expertise and experiences to audiences who were parents with a child with autism. I was also in the same vision as his that autism should not be treated as disease nor dysfuntional or something that we are incapable of. We should treat autism as our way of inspiration and way of living as we are going to be adventurous in daily lives..
To my special friend, you got my admiration and a salute for that braveness to enlightment of what autism was about! Continue to educate and inspire parents with such a child who has autism and children with autism too... I believe in you and your capabilties to educate about autism with much passion and justice. Maybe in the future we could collaborate together. Once again, I am so much proud of you and let your powerful and forthbright personality shine! I'm so glad to have a friend like you. :)
