Tin Hou

Hsin Jin Ge was a restaurant across from our hotel it was inexpensive and had excellent congee(jok).

Eating in HK has always been good.......you expect tech and styles are always ahead of the rest of the world in HK.......but actually HK has also lead in food.  Often what is eaten in HK will eventually come to the US and end up in our in our Chinatowns.  Shanghai style food has been popular in HK is only now just beginning to become popular in San Francisco's Chinatown.  The Tin Hou Area that I stayed in has some of the best food in HK....and it's cheap and has great variety, Everything you like is found here including: Japanese Sushi, Thai food, Shanghai Dim Sum, Chinese baked buns....pineapple buns, ham and cheese buns, butter cream buns, etc.,English Breakfast, Wonton noodles, Beef Tendon Noodles, Indian food, Macaroni Soup.....all this can be found in a four block area on Electric Road right behind the MTR Station........and I really needed another week to try more of them.  Shi Ge is a small eating place on Electric Road has a breakfast set for as little as 20 yuan.....includes: 2 slices of bread, soupy macaroni with ham, two eggs over easy, tea and milk tea HK style....you can't beat that for breakfast!!   By the way finding places that have breakfast sets can save you a lot of money eating.....otherwise eating in Hotels and Malls can end up costing you lots of money.   Shi Ge is also good for it's clay pot dishes for dinner.
