Count down to CMAT

Well a couple days left before the 18th Annual CMAT at UC Berkeley. It looks pretty good...over 500 competitors are registered for the tournament....and the Cal Wushu Team Members are busy trying to make sure everything goes smoothly.  We still need 20 or so big guys to help move the competition rug from Fremont to the Campus, and buy the food and drinks for all the judges.....there are about 100 of them!  Then after a big flurry of emails and phone calls to China the Beijing Team got their Visas approved......so for you Wushu fans out there Wudi or Dillon Wu to you AnD folks is coming........for us older folks Coach Cui Ya Hui is also coming too....I have known him since 1980........and he was the Praying Mantis Instructor on the Wushu Videos that I help produce....they are still available from Andrea Falk in VCD format..she's in Canada selling the entire series.  So for the Mantis fans Coach Tsui will be here, and Dillon will give instruction on the spear and straightsword...don't miss it, that will be on Sunday after CMAT in San Francisco at the Japantown YMCA!!

Dillon Wu(Aka Wudi) the current World Wushu Champoin will be giving a Seminar at the Buchanan YMCA in San Francisco, on Sunday May 2 from 1-4pm.  Will cover basics to advanced techniques, and how to be a champion.  Coach of the Beining Team Cui Ya Hui will give pointers for Praying Mantis.  Seminar topics subject to change.  Don'f miss it!

Beijing team is also bringing one of the younger athletes to compete....so should be a great couple of days for Wushu.  And of course if any of you out there are near Berkeley...please drop by and say hi.....I will be running around in my suit trying to look official...........it is one of the only times I will hang up my Addidas jacket for a suit!
