A Jade Christmas

Christmas is one of my favorite Holidays.  It reminds me that it's a time to see friends and care for others..........I like the decorations, music, and the general atmosphere of good will.  And I do most certainly thank all the students for the gifts........thank you for the appreciation!!   This year though one of my students Harry gave me a special gift....I dropped by his pad to meet his mother....Cheng Pei Pei.......name might not ring a bell to those of you who are younger.......but at one time she was Shaw Brothers Studio in Hong Kong top female martial arts Heroine on the big screen......she made "Come Drink with Me".....and "Golden Swallow".........my favorites but there were many more...........most of you though would recognize her from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon".....she was Jade Fox!  It was great to meet her , not often you get to meet your movie idol in person..........thanks Harry! 

My autographed copy of "Golden Swallow"............it was a classic kung-fu movie of it's time, directed by Chang Cheh, and starred Cheng Pei Pei, and Australia's Jimmy Wang-Yu.

Madame Cheng and I talked about her movie career......then I sent her off to see Aaron to work on her knee!! 

She said mostly she was trying to find big movies to make.....tho in this economy not easy to find.  So she 's been doing for TV stuff.  Well all in all I had a great time and enjoyed the brief conversation we had.  Certainly, for me this will always be a special Xmas.......hope all of you had a great Christmas!!   Peace!
