*** PLEASE SHARE AND 'ANGRY' this. *** Hopefully if enough people share it Telstra will finally start AUTOMATICALLY giving customers the better deals (like other ISPs, like iiNet do) - instead of trying to gouge the Australian Public.
So in September 2016, we signed up to our internet plan for $120/month. ONE MONTH LATER, the price dropped to $99/month and has been heavily advertised. I just found out about this, and Telstra refuses to let me pay the lesser amount unless I FIRST agree to pay a $50 "recontacting fee". I said 'fine, just give me a $50 credit on the account and then it's a wash' - which they also refused to do. They didn't even disagree that it was unfair, but I guess they just don't care enough. I pointed out to them, that the extra $20 extra that I had to to pay (that other people didn't) adds to $60 dollars. When I asked what was the name of the person whom has the authority to credit customer accounts, they claimed, "no body has that authority".
TLDR; I'm sick of being taken advantage of by giant corporations. They don't have a problem charging me the new lower price, they just want me to charge me $50 to click a button on a computer!
