Martial Arts Biography: Arv was inspired by the films of Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan early in his life. As Arv wanted to perform the same flashy kicks as the legendary martial artists, he enrolled in wushu at the age of 11. His interests in martial arts continued to persevere, as he learned the art of wushu with the subcategories of the longfist, broadsword, and staff. He went on to perform at the Haugh Performing Arts Center at the city of Glendora in California for the performance of "The Art of Wushu" at the age of 13. By the age of 14, Arv started learning taekwondo in which he was able to enhance his ability to hit multiple targets with leg kicks. At the age of 16, he joined the high school wrestling team where he was able to learn and execute ground work. At the age of 17, he competed in the 15th Annual UC Berkeley Chinese Martial Arts Tournament and received a bronze medal in Wushu Broadsword. He continued to compete at the 16th Annual UC Berkeley Chinese Martial Arts Tournament and received a gold medal in Wushu Long Fist. During his time in college, he went on to take classes in boxing, muay thai, wing chun, and judo. He presently continues to learn and grow in every way in martial arts.
