You may disagree with this, but I often think being an electronica producer is a lot like being a winemaker.  Imagine the parallel: the genesis of a great sonic idea is not much more than having access to great vine.  To develop that idea into a full blown, coherent song often takes an inordinate amount of thoughtfulness, energy, and patience. (I find this to be more true for electronica than any other genres with pre-defined sounds.)

Imagine the finished product.  Well balanced, complex, full of flavors.  Now imagine if you don't do it right.  You may start with a great idea but overload it with cliche breaks, overused sounds and inappropriate composition and you get PLONK!

Plonk has its place.  Namely parties where no one is paying attention to the drink, or the music for that matter.

There's also that not-so-subtle parallel between music and drinks produced from two sides of the Atlantic.  American-produced electronica tend to be big, bold, and in your face.  Whereas our European brethrens value productions which are not always full-bodied and smoothed out, and they inject enough tannins to keep their songs worthy of years of keeping (think Chemical Bros / Boysnoize).

All of this beg the question..  how do we describe this CHINESE produced electronica you're hearing here.  To be honest I don't know.  Just don't think of Great Wall Cabernet when you're listening.

great wall rocks. especially after a couple bottles of er guo tou. anything substantial and history worthy definitely takes shitloads of time and effort... and, most importantly, random luck, too. haha. as taleb would say.
