We have lost communication with Charlie for couple of weeks, no phone no internet access. We were only able to use SPOT to track Charlie.

Updating Charlie Blog, it sounds so interested I wanted to be there myself. Is one hell of amazing adventure.
Charlie have arrived at Erenhot, the last stop in China. A windy and cold border post (its still 2C), surrounded by wind turbines and replica life size dinosaurs. Tomorrow I should be able to clear customs, drive across the border to Zamyn Uud, find an oasis, sort out the Hilux and head East towards the Nomrog Protected Area. Anyone got a map?

21st May 2010 Charlie on the China Roads:Charlie's comments:It’s psychological mind games on these roads. Nothing makes sense. Dual carriage-ways turn into single oncoming traffic lanes, tunnels are fog traps, roadworks are non marked deep crevasses and ‘drivers’ well where do I begin. These State Roads are littered with crashes. Thought lots about having a gameshow based on driving in the world’s worst countries, a competition of sorts to see how long the contestant can last before cracking under pressure.

Charlie just arrived at the Three Gorges Dam area after a tough slog from Wuhan. Far too much frogs & chemical beer the night before, and I am now paying the price. I have a less punishing pace over the next few days following the Yangtze upstream and heading towards Xian."
