MALOOF MONEY CUP 2010

This year Maloof Money Cup was held at Flushing Meadows Queens, NYC. Big thank you to FUEL TV for having online LIVE for those of us who live in Hong Kong to witness it.I have to say, it’s the craziest contest that I’ve witnessed, it’s so damn gnarly. The level of skateboarding these professionals are bringing to the table is beyond belief. Gnarly shit, mad consistent as well.I have to say P-Rod and Chris Cole really really represented. Chris won the contest (and USD100,000 richer) which I have nothing against with but if you asked me to pick, I’ll pick P Rod (after all, he has a better style even though he’s kinda robotic-esque). It’s the hardest to judge skateboarding. There will never be justice. P Rod did pretty much everything switch in his run and that’s hard as fuck going down the handrail. At the same time, Chris did everything 360 which is also gnarly at the same time. I’m not a big fan of Chris’ style but no doubt about his skills on a skateboard, he is, indeed, a TRUE BEAST. Utmost respect to Chris. There’s a reason why his Spitfire wheels sell the best at 8FIVE2SHOP (we’ll order more for sure).I have to say Maloof Money Cup does everything correctly. From building amazing obstacles for the contest to the way they ran the contest to hiring the exact RIGHT people to commentate the contest (JEFF PANG and CHRIS NIERATKO did an AMAZING JOB. SUPER DAMN FUNNY those 2 fellas, love them). They both put a big smile on my face while watching it at 4:30 in the morning with my 2 month old baby Tayla in my arms.GOOD JOB fellas. NOW, I can’t wait to see how Dyrdek’s Street League can top this. Let’s see.mmc02mmc(photos courtesy of Thrasher and ESPN)
