The Mexican Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong Announces “The
Mexican Film Festival in Hong Kong”
.- The Mexican Chamber of Commerce(MexCham) announced today the Mexican Film Festival in Hong Kong aspart of the celebrations of the Bicentennial of Mexican Independence and theCentennial of the Mexican Revolution in Hong Kong.
Given the importance of the anniversary for Mexicans all over the world,MexCham is presenting to our friends in Hong Kong a gift of Mexico throughthe artistic lens of some of its most renowned film makers. It is as well; anincredible opportunity to launch the first festival, trusting that it will continueand outgrow itself in years to come. The festival is a joint effort of theMexCham and the Consulate General of Mexico and it is possible, thanks tothe generous support of a number of private sponsors.
The Film Festival will present a wholesome view of different aspects ofcontemporary Mexican culture by presenting films that feature Mexico as aform of cinematography in Mexico. The selection presented in this firstfestival, has been internationally awarded with prizes from some of the mosticonic festivals such as Sundance, Cannes and Heartland among others.
This festival shows a wide variety of techniques and filmschools, all bringing together some of the mostcharacteristic features of Mexican life seen through
movies. It is a non to be missed opportunity to betterunderstand and appreciate Mexico.

The film festival will run from the 8thmay to the 12thMaywith free entry. The movies have English subtitles.
