Stopping in KL and Flying High in Singapore

Last week I had the privilege of going to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to attend the official opening of the new Salvatore Ferragamo showroom in The Pavilion.  Although I was there only one night, it was a great time, especially since I haven't been to KL in awhile.

Of course, it's always more fun when you hear the next "random" question from the media!

Back in Singapore, The Leap Years starring Wong Li Lin and Joan Chen finally hit the big screens this past weekend, and the response has been great.  People from all over the country have been reaching for their tissue boxes because of this tearjerker.

On the night of February 29 when the film debuted, the producers invited the team involved with this project to partake on the soon-to-be-opened Singapore Flyer, which is reportedly the largest observation wheel in the world...for now.  The Singapore Flyer is modeled after the London Eye and officially opened on March 1.  Did you know tickets for rides on the first 3 nights were sold out for $ 8,888 Singapore dollars (US$6,271)?  Singaporeans certainly did not hesitate to pay for this auspicious number in Chinese culture.  Here's a picture of the view from 42 stories high:

Everyone was all smiles with the success of the movie...

...and along with Vernetta Lopez, Jean Yeo (director), Qi Yi Wu, and Wong Li Lin, we all hope that this is the beginning of bigger things to come for the Singapore film industry.  In the meantime, if you haven't seen this movie yet, do watch the movie trailer below to see if it might be your cup o' tea:

Good luck and have a good week!
