Just this past April 22 was Earth Day 2009, and I did my part to appreciate the Earth's environment with planting a new tree at Pasir Ris Park. I've always been a big believer to "Go Green" and do what we can to preserve the environment so this was a meaningful event sponsored by Origins. Actually, I was expecting to do some major shoveling and digging, but the "hard labor" was really "soft" with fresh soil and fertiizer already prepared...
Regardless, I still made the most of it with a couple of big whacks to open up a big hole for the young tree...
And just like that, a new tree is planted!
Speaking of the environment, I still remember working for CALPIRG (California Public Interest Research Group) one summer while I was in college. I used to go out every day into new neighborhoods and do some door-to-door canvassing. Basically, I'd walk from one house to another and try to convince the residents to donate money to this environmental company. I did really well and was the top earner for the first couple of weeks I was working there, but then I got tired of being chased by dogs and getting lost in random neighborhoods so that stint ended soon thereafter. However, the good thing I got out of it was seeing people doing their part to save and preserve this planet.
And now that the "hard work" was done for Earth Day, it's time to give my little man another "Mini Hawk" for our trip to Bali...
I'm not sure how big of a fan he is of his hairdo, but I always have fun retrofitting him with a custom cut. I'm sure he'll be back to give me a taste of my own medicine when I'm old and gray...and hopefully still have some hair!
Upon landing in Bali, I even found a copy of DA MAN magazine at the local bookstore...
Here's a couple shots from the cover story....
Alright, I'm outta here so I'll see ya next time with some more whacky pics from Bali like this one!
