Last Friday, I had the honour and privilege of meeting my childhood hero and 4-time Superbowl Champion San Francisco 49er quarterbackin legend, Joe Montana. I still remember when this 3-time Superbowl MVP (Only player ever to win it three times) saved my fifth grade betting pool when he threw that last gasp pass to Dwight Clark which has forever been known as “The Catch.” When Kerry Center asked me whether I would like to meet and interview Joe Montana, I immediately jumped at the opportunity to meet “Joe Cool” himself…
While all of the guests were enjoying the broadcast of the Colts vs. Titans game, I was getting my questions ready for Mr. Montana. Soon, it would be time to hit the stage and shower him with questions about his legendary Hall of Fame career in the NFL…
NFL fans in Shanghai showed up in droves to catch a glimpse and take a picture with the man who orchestrated thirty one comebacks during his football career…
For me…it was truly a night to remember. I still recall decades ago when I’d look up my birthday to see who else was born on June 11th. Some notable names such as Jacques Cousteau, Vince Lombardi, Nelson Mandela, and others popped up, but I will always be most proud to be on the same day as Joe Montana.
Thank you for a wonderful evening, and I wish you nothing but the very best in all your future endeavours!
