Media Preview Screening for TARA2 in Singapore

We're one week away from the premiere of the second season of The Amazing Race Asia so it's time to kick the buzz up a notch.  Tonight, AXN and Caltex organized a special media preview screening for all the press and media here in Singapore.  The turnout was phenomenal, and the response was proof positive.  Everyone there was just psyched about the arrival of Season Two.  And after watching everyone's reaction from the first episode, I really think this show will be worth all of your time...and you'll soon be asking how to join!

For me along with everyone else who has put in so much time and energy to bring this to your TV set, the race will speak for itself, and I KNOW that all who watch it will not be disappointed.  Until the race officially begins next week, here are some shots from earlier this evening to get you ramped up to race pace:

This event was held at The Turquoise Room in Gilman Village.  Usually, the food at these functions is horrible, but I must say this bar and restaurant really impressed everyone there with their delicious grub.  Of course, the organizers had to have an alumni from the first season to host the event...and who better than Melody Chen from Team Singapore? 

There's no "I" in the word "team" so Sharon, Melody's partner-in-race last season, was also present for the sneak preview along with Randall Tan.

So which racers made the pit stop for this event?  From left to right after me, we got Sophie from Hong Kong, Adrian from Singapore, Brett from Indonesia, Brett's mom, Diane from Malaysia, and Colin from Singapore.  Everyone was really happy to see each other, especially cuz they could shower and didn't smell unlike during the race itself a lot of times

Here's Melody reacting to me telling her how difficult it was for me to eliminate her from the first season.  Like I said, "It's a tough job to be the host of TARA, but somebody's gotta do it.  Why not me!?"

One thing to be prepared for at these functions is you always gotta be ready to take pictures so make sure you don't have too much food in your mouth so you can't smile.

Now, here's something interesting.  Here's what the attendees received in their "goodie bags" (or buckets) tonight.  The organizers had some fun with a bucket to carry some chips, lollipops, M&Ms, luggage tag, AXN pendant, and a little black T-shirt among other things.

Wait a minute...after I read the instructions on the back, this is actually a regular "human-size" T-shirt.  All you have to do is soak it in a bucket of  water like the one provided and it's ready to wear...once it's dried!   Great stuff!  I'm gonna go soak it right now so I'll catch ya later!
