Boom Magazine Presents Hip-Hop Face-off - August 13 at the Tonno!

Our good friends from Boom Magazine are putting on another cool event!  This time the venue is cool too! its a Hip-hop DJ showcase that will be held at the Tonno in Wanchai.  (Yes, Tonno as in Tonnochy Street, as in the Tonnochy from the play!)  The three DJs are all local favorites and friends of AnD including DJ Yao and Rack's own DJ D-Heezy !

✭ DJ YAO (XXX) - [Yao a.k.a. Yaoser(s)] ✭

California native DJ Yao is a familiar face at Hong Kong's underground parties and can be found spinning at XXX, or any number of music-focused events. A Bay Area local, Yao is skilled at playing beats from multiple genres while keeping dance floors pumping. He's got a heavy foundation in the Hip Hop classics from both coasts and the lands in-between. Expect: Madlib, J Dilla, and De La Soul

Arthur is the new kid on the scene who has been breaking of-the-moment beats via his "Yeti in the Basement" party to an in-the-know crowd. He’s the music editor of HYPEBEAST and got his start DJing in East London. Expect: Kendrick Lamar, Action Bronson, Danny Brown, and A$AP Rocky

✭ D-HEEZY (RACKS) - [Dheezy] ✭

Born in Miami, D-Heezy is the man behind popular hangout, Racks, and a DJ who is known for his genre-busting sets that throw in everything from 80's Miami Bass to the newest Hip Hop hits. Expect Run-D.M.C., The Beastie Boys, Tupac and The 2 Live Crew!
