AnD users will undoubtedly remember that late last year we were happy to contribute to Hong Kong department store Lane Crawford's 160th anniversary festivities.  You may have read the blog write up here at the time.

Well we're at it again! 

Starting in April they are launching a collaboration with US-based designer fashion label Opening Ceremony and they've asked us to be a media partner in the launch of this month long collaboration.

Here's the skinny from Lane Crawford themselves:

To kick off Spring 2011 in fresh, energetic style, Lane Crawford proudly collaborates with US fashion retailer Opening Ceremony, bringing together two fashion forces in an unprecedented creative partnership that unites the best of Hong Kong and New York.

This April, the Lane Crawford ifc mall store and Beijing store will be transformed for 4 weeks into a conceptual retail extension of Opening Ceremony, replete with inspired visual displays and exciting must-have products. What they don't mention in the PR materials is that Opening Ceremony's cofounder, Carol Lim's family is from Hong Kong, and part of Opening Ceremony's product and store design is inspired by the Hong Kong's eclectic shopping markets with their myriad of small private shops jammed full of shops selling many types of goods.

Based on our experience,  Lane Crawford's team does an interesting job transforming their relatively traditional department store space into an interesting exhibition space during these special events (see Etchy's blogs from their 160th Anniversary party and from their Semi-Permanent Opening event),  so we're looking forward to seeing how Lane Crawford will look with Opening Ceremony's influence this time.

As part of AnD's role as a marketing partner, we are inviting our artists and community members to join in the Hong Kong Launch party!  It will be held at their IFC flagship location on Thursday April 14th.
