I was recently invited to the Arts Fiesta 2018 @ Tanglin Secondary School. This was the place where I first began my thespian journey. The process of exploring an artistic passion, which later became my career and a large part of my life, all began here. Back then, there were only Extra Curricula Activities that gave us the opportunity to pursue our artistic inclinations. 22 years later, as I revisit my alma mater, a comprehensive Arts programme focusing on the Performing Arts, has been integrated into the Tanglinian Student's academic curriculum. Watching these young artists perform their hearts out at the Arts Fiesta reignited the memories of my youth. When I took to the stage for my first theatrical performance; when I initiated the first all-male dance crew for Teachers Day; when I won the first national public speaking award in the school’s history.

I am so proud when I watch you, performers from Tanglin APSN, Juying Secondary School and all the Tanglinian performers, giving your 110% on stage! It is so encouraging and gives me hope that our future will be filled with artistic vibrance.

I am even more encouraged that Tanglin Secondary School has come such a long way to encourage students with artistic talents to explore, nurture and pursue their creative gifts. As the only neighbourhood school in the west to provide such a programme is truly commendable! Thank you to the Principal, Vice-Principals, and Teachers @tanglinsec for helping to keep The Arts an integral component of our young Singaporeans education. Congratulations again, on another year of Progressive Artistry! ??????
