My time in Hong Kong is up. This trip easily being the longest and most enjoyable in Hong Kong so it is slightly less exciting to be back in Beijing. But this the feeling you get at the end of most productions where you are there from beginning to end of principal photography. This is the time where the majority of crew and cast hang out and work together for the duration of a project and it feels very much like summer camp to me. You go in on your first day and you see a few familiar faces that were there in previous years and a few new faces. You spend everyday together and make friends and enemies but no matter, they are all apart of this year's camp. You may hate your time there, it may be incredibly hard work and days that you wish you were anywhere else in the world but usually before the end of it you find something you like about it and at the end you feel this emptiness and that's because you know that it won't ever be the same. Next year it may be the same camp but it may be different camp ground with slightly different people working together on a different project. It may be similar but still never the same.It is especially difficult when everyone working with you has been just a joy to work with. The cast and crew of Mister French Taste was just that and less than a week after wrap, the cast/crew are scattered throughout a handful of different cities across 3 continents. The show is a comedy, clashing French and Chinese culture in 3-minute episodes over a 10 episode series. There were a lot of the amazing crew from Lumina was involved in Mister French Taste. A lot of new very talented people as well.Check out the cast/crew list at:www.misterfrenchtaste.comAnd photos, because I have them.Myself, Veronique Girma, the producer and Alannah Ong on the last day of production. Alannah was actually my first acting teacher ever. I took her classes when I was 8 years old and saw her for the first time in over 10 years this time in Hong KongWe have our lead, Olivier Malet holding his dog, Zhuzhu/Juju, Myself, Veronique, Alannah and Jennifer Thym, our director. When I look at this photo I wonder who will hate me more for posting it. Billy Lau, our 1st A.D. or Jen? Olivier and I were talking about Linguistics and the tempo/tones of speech in the french language (Olivier's doing his P.H.D. on that) when Jen and Billy had to get some energy out of their system.Support independent film productions, Chinese culture, Hong Kong filming, France?, and everyone will be able to make some more movies together.www.misterfrenchtaste.com
