One of my companies is looking for a mandarin fluent (and English fluent) After Effects Artist for some freelance work.
In the past we use a translator/artist team - but I would like to simplify things.
If this matches you or someone you know, leave a comment here and I'll PM you. It's for something happening starting next week and finished by the sixth of July. But these things come up often.
Singer/Composer: Dr. Steel.
Dr. Steel is not unlike Marilyn Manson or Ziggy Pop in that he totally embodies a character. He also has created a whole back story and world for his character to live in. His live shows (of which I've only seen video clips) go well beyond just a band on a stage and are an extension of his entire back story.
I have met so many people who ended up studying accounting because it's a reliable career when their passion was in the arts. Personally - I think that being being an artist requires full attention and focus and that is also why I get concerned when the economics of the art world lead to it being only performable as a hobby or as a purely commercial venture.
If you are an artist who is just entering college and being forced by parents or culture to study something other than the arts, this is my advice:
Study marketing. It...Read more
There was a reason I posted the photos from children's artwork right after the Fallen video.
Children have the tendency to not censor themselves while creating. As we get older, even though we gain practical skills, practice, and knowledge of how to express ourselves, we also have acquired, shame, fear, and insecurity which affects our work and molds it into what it "should be."
Artists of all kinds will realize this at some point and either embrace it or fight against it.

My friend sent me a link to this work which I thought I'd share.
It's a clever idea: What would childrens drawings look like if they were photographs. What do you think? What did you draw as a child?
Here are a few attached, but there are more on the site here:
I directed this last year and am finally allowed to share it.

In the next couple days I will finally be posting some of my video work. As I've mentioned before, a lot of my work is NDA which means I can't show it for a period of time.
A while back I showed to fans only "FALLEN" and now I can put it up for the public. So, I'm using this to start my youtube account. When I post this, if you like it, it would help a great deal if you actually went to youtube and commented and rated it. It would also help if you sent the link along to friends (at alive or elsewhere) who might fin...Read more
Most people would list a few other rules before this one considering this idea "advanced" - but I think it's so essential, I'm going to consider it necessity.
Improv Rules 04: Find the Game
The game of a scene is the dynamic interaction between the characters of a scene. It is not necessarily what the scene is about. It is not the plot of the scene or the story of the scene, but it is still what makes the scene work. It can take many forms.

Power is gained by making decisions.
So often we worry about making the right choice when, in reality, the success or failure of many decisions are simply based on random luck.
If you make decisions based on an educated guess - the education will be your edge to swing the odds in your favor and with enough decisions, even if your education only increases your odds by 5% - your good luck will stack up faster than your bad luck.
If you spend your time in a state of uncertainty and wavering - nothing is ever accomplished. If ...Read more
