last nite i brought my 2 cantonese students to watch horse racing in happy valley... well... technically speaking it was my father bringing 3 of us to the horse racing, coz actually it was my first time to see horse racing live!  it was my suggestion going to the happy valley for the horse racing as i think it's getting boring learning cantonese at home all the time... well... or maybe it's just me! ;p  

my students they are a married couple.  since the husband is a gambler, healthy gambler i guess.. n the good supportive wife is fine with it, so there we were in the horse racing court last nite!  i know nothing about gambling, so i called my father n invited him to come with us!  i introduced my father as an expert in gambling, well, he has many years of gambling experiences and loads of experiences in losing money as well ;)  thanks to him we went into the "members only" section which was less crowded, it would just be better for the pregnant wife!

we arrived at the third race.  after my father explained the games a little bit, they decided to pick a random number n bet on it. $20 for no.3 horse for the third race to test their luck. n after losing the first bet they decided to just watch! :)  excitement was towards the end of the race, ppl standed n shouted for the horses they bet! :)  it's exciting.  we stayed there for 3 races.  what i enjoy most was the scene there!  i love happy valley long ago n i still love it since it gives me a very peaceful feeling... i don't know how n why... i had that little wish to live in happy valley when i was young... :)

well, it was one special cantonese lesson, n it was a very peaceful evening for all of us in the horse racing game! :)
