This week on KONGKAST! Special guest mix by one of the local talents from Malaysia – DJ Anowl (Loops Collective, Resistive / Malaysia).
Anowl started exploring the music and scene himself yet started DJing in 2003. From then, he has spinned in major Drum N Bass private parties in the same year. A 2nd generation event organizer with the Loops Collective DNB team, recently claimed several massive nights such as Liquid Jump Up Series at 2 prominent locations within Kuala Lumpur.
Collaborating closely with Loops Collective founder, DJ Low, the team along with the local junglist-troopers are slowly but surely infecting the post-shuffler generation with a less ridiculous alternative.
We send many thanks to Anowl for bringing this special set to KONGKAST – Hong Kong’s podcast for dnb and dubstep!

About Anowl (Loops Collective, Resistive/ Malaysia)
Being listened to Photek – Modus Operandi from 1997 and be one of the Drum N Bass crowd since 1999, Anowl started exploring the music and scene himself yet started DJing in 2003.
With his sharp mixing in various musical flavors from Jungle, Liquid, Jump-Up, Techny, Hardstep, Neurofunk to Technoid storm. His versatility is undeniable, being equally comfortable playing vinyl and cdj by using Traktor DJ Studio. Within a year, Anowl has been discovered and offered as resident DJ under Loops Collective label. Followed by his appearance in Inferno, Looking Good, DNB Xtra and Liquid Jump Up Series. He has gained himself the most commermorative DJ set in London Elektricity South East Asia tour in year 2004, Utah jazz early 2005 & Nu:Tone in December 2005, Knowledge Magazine launch in January 2006 and DJ SUV in March 2007.
Furthermore, he also has been offered to spin at XLive Music Festival presents Missy Elliot Live in Genting 17th May 2008 and having his own Drum N bass sessions. Not more than that, he spreaded the sound of Drum N Bass for an outdoor gig called Rock on Rave – Malaysia’s first non-stop music festival on 7th & 8th June 2008 at Cineleisure Damansara Rooftop with local band such as Butterfingers, Bittersweet, Restraint and more. He continued his effort to bringing the Drum N Bass scene by having a collaboration with local underground label in Merdeka Rock The DJ 2008 on 30th August 2008 – a 14 hours non-stop gig at One Cafe. He made it happen as a different gig from others by spinning back to back with the bands such as Tasyha’s Ink, Coda, Apple Juice, Cylical Din and so much more.
Being a third winner for Pioneer Digital DJ Battle 2007, second winner for Pioneer Digital DJ Battle 2008, champion for Malaysian DJ Battle Championship 2008, champion for Heineken presents Juice DJ Quest 2008 National Finals and again be the champion representing Malaysia for Heineken presents Juice DJ Quest 2008 Regional Finals battle with DJ’s from Singapore and Indonesia. After the winning he has been offered to spin at Capital FM – Turn It Up with Joey G & Gabriel – and be the first Drum N Bass DJ’s spin at Radio show. His passion in Drum N Bass music and scene for 8 years never stop. He just want to bring out the music to our local act instead of keep spinning at the same
gig with the same crowd, he also want to make people know what is Drum N Bass all about rather than listening to what other people listen to. He is hoping that people will be more exploring the Drum N Bass where there’s a various genre in it like Electro, Trance, Techno, Hip Hop/Rap, Jazz/Samba, Rock/Hardcore and whatever you want it to be.
