The Evolution of Wack Hip Hop

Waddup?!? this is Tedman...first time posting on here...

While kickin it with the homies of Justice Family last night and waitin to head to Dragon-i for the Diplo x Steve Aoki party...we came across the topic of the worst material in hip hop...and I feel like I should share this with y'all...

Despite the fact that we are surrounded by garbage such as Soulja Boi, T-Pain, Flo Rida, Gucci Mane (BIG.SAMMY's favorite rapper!!!), etc...our ears have had to suffer through much much worse throughout the past 15 years of hip hop...

Therefore, in respect of all the hustlers who find their ways to make their hits, I dedicate this post to studying thru the worst u can find in the history of hip hop...Lets all take a step back to the 90s, some of these joints still leave me wondering how they even got big...

so let's start the journey..."This is a journey...(DJ scratching sounds)...to wack hip hop"

From my memory, I think it all started back in the mid-late 90s...when the family (Master P, Silkk the Shocker, etc) from New Orleans began to rise to fame. In addition to wack music, these cats also found a way to maximize their profit by lowering costs...using cheap ugly ass designs (most likely made from the "Paint" program on ya PC) as their cover. I have always wondered who woulda been the man behind these designs...his job must have been mad boring...anyway, check out their designs yo!

Silkk the Shocker ft. Mystikal "It Ain't My Fault" (1998) I remember I was in elementary school when Silkk the Shocker had his biggest hit...I fuckin hated this shit back in the day as a kid and now that I listen to it again as an adult...I seriously don't understand how this became a hit

Master P "Make Em Say Ugh" (1997) This shit sold 10 million copies?!?!?!? WTF...

well...I can't hate...Master P is sittin in his jacuzzi right now while i'm sittin in front of my computer typin this damn entry

Fast forward to 2002, at this point...the market was dominated by R&B rap shit...

Basically, throw a R&B chick on the hook and u got yourself a hit single

apart from the soft R&B joints, another nightmare came...

"my neck, my back...lick my pussy and my crack"...

Khia "My Neck My Back"

And then came the era from 2002 - 2007...the darkest years of hip hop...when the market was dominated by the "crunk" shit from the South (please excuse me if I got the years wrong cuz this was literally the years when I stopped listening to hip hop)...I aint even need to speak much bout this era...just listen for yourself...I just really feel bad for the kids who grew up during this era and think hip hop is supposed to sound like this garbage..

Mike Jones "Back Then"

Lil Jon "Snap Yo Fingers"

(I don't even know the person who made this song) "Chicken Noodle Soup" before the Soulja Boi dance, we had this shit

D4L "Laffy Taffy" can't front...this song was catchy to me...but it's so wack

Ying Yang Twins "The Whisper Song"

WTF?!?!?!? yall mofos whisper thru the whole entire song?!?!?

in the future, someone needs to make a song called "Silence"...a 3 minute song of straight silence...

Mims "This is Why I'm Hot"

c'mon man...how is this hot?

Of course there are a lot more bad ones in the past 10 years, but these are just some highlights...

Luckily, our ears are blessed with creative talents comin outta the hip hop game these past few years with MCs like Lupe, Wale, Kid Cudi, U-N-I, etc etc...

So lets all salute and say "Respect to the wack hip hop"...the darkest hour is gone and the future of hip hop is lookin brighter than ever!
