Mighty Mos Def - "Supermagic" MV & Original Sample

The Mighty Mos Def released the most innovative hip-hop album of the year in my opinion...and this opening track is FIRE...definitely the raw-est hip-hop joint of the year! (lookout for the sudden flashes of visuals in the video...some trippy ish!)

When I first heard the song back when the album came out, I was really curious where the sick middle-eastern sounding riff sample came from...after doing some diggin...I came across this clip...

Turns out the sample comes from a 70s Turkish artist named Selda Bagcan, with a song called "Ince Ince Bir Kar Yagar"...Bagcan was a revolutionary singer in Turkey who was then persecuted by the government in the 80s due to the political messages in her music...
