Greetings,
We’re only days away from that holiday where we all gather together in festive spirit and give thanks to everything, on sale! Yes, I’m talking about Black Friday. Oh, there’s that other holiday, Black Friday eve too. With no purchase necessary, here are two things we’re thankful for.
As you may remember in the last entry, we worked on a music video parody of Beyonce’s “Rule the World” (Girls) with Bindlestiff Studio’s Granny Cart Gangstas and below is just a sample of the result.
This production really was ruled by girls, from conception (no pun intended), to hair, make up, and wardrobe along with dance practice, they did it all! The credit definitely goes to Roczane Enriquez for organizing such a well thought out production and Revelcade was more than happy to help, of course! The video is still being edited, so stay tuned for more footage of these fierce ladies!
Filmmaking can often take us down a dark road, but there’s always light at the end of the tunnel. This light comes in the form of a Hiro, Hiro Narita A.S.C. to be exact.
I had the pleasure of taking a previous workshop with Hiro through the San Francisco Film Society a few years ago where I enjoyed his lecture and learned a lot from his experience. When I presented the idea of an independent workshop, Hiro graciously agreed. We spent an entire afternoon discussing lighting and my favorite part was the hands on exercises. Needless to say, it was an illuminating experience learning from a veteran cinematographer.
As always, look forward to more from Revelcade and revel in the holidays!
