After years of hard work and numerous films(good and bad ones, amateur and professional ones), I can finally say I can start working on a showreel. A showreel is basically you use as your selling tool to market yourself as an actor. I've finally done enough and got enough photos and film footage to do probably a 90 second-2 minute showreel, point is to show what u look like on screen and also if u got any acting chops and diff. range if u got any. Still waiting for some good footage from 2 other films: If It Could Have(1.5 years ago, still not done for some reason, I guess they aren't happy w/post production), and "kung fu killers"(i know i got some real bad ass footage from that film, i can't wait... fighting and wearing a random costume, and plus special effects:getting hit with arrows in forehead and chest and dying scene, can't wait for that)So i guess now i'm reflecting at all the projects I've done, all the stuff i did in college won't make it, except "within/without" i made w/Nick Louie, I'll lose a 2 second clip from the end of that film for a "look", and "Final Round" and "foreboding" maybe use a few shots from that. "600" I will cut up a short audio piece and get the best shots from that film in this clip like a mini 30 second film. Film I did for French director I liked the footage where I'm going crazy at stalker-girlfriend and telling her to stop stalking me came out well, I thought the editing on that scene was a little messed up, so I will have to reedit that sequence to make it look better, but the footage and acting I am very happy with. SO yeah... all in all, 2 years of films plus stuff from college, gosh... so many films, even though most of the films I did are all no-name, nothing big yet, I feel it's a great start and I can't wait for the what's ahead of me. 24 now and all, i guess i'm in too deep now, hahaha. Also I plan to use the film I'll be filming this weekend part of the footage to show a "good side", since most of the characters I plan to use in this showreel so far are either crazy ass(killing wives or trying to kill people or fighting, gangsters) or just a jackass, I think i got that one down pretty good, thanks ;) I learn from the best, my good friends, jp hahaha.
