銀幕再現：鐵甲威龍（導演版）、宇宙威龍、獵鹿者

保羅韋浩雲進軍荷里活，在《鐵甲威龍》以局外人目光看準美國多姿多采又沒完沒了的民主民粹討論，同時製造法西斯與反法西斯的魅力，更大膽引入神蹟意象，大膽諷喻、黑色幽默和暴力程度皆使人耳目一新。在《宇宙威龍》更與阿諾舒華辛力加合力創造出充滿過山車動作和扭橋場面的科幻經典，當年以先進特技效果膾灸人口，對夢境、記憶及身分的虛實辯証，更是超前，別開生面。

米高契敏奴七月撒手塵寰，他的代表作就有贏得五項奧斯卡的《獵鹿者》。說這部電影反越戰，其實更是對戰爭摧毀人性的探討。找來星級實力派演員陣容（羅拔迪尼路、梅麗史翠普、基斯杜化華堅），透過三個在戰場上受重創的破碎心靈，契敏奴拍出了荷里活電影反思越戰的先驅作。

Back to the Screen: ROBOCOP, TOTAL RECALL and THE DEER HUNTER

As an outsider of the Hollywood system, Dutch director Paul Verhoeven's ROBOCOP is a commentary on the American popular culture and politics, interweaving Christian symbolism and a satire on fascism into an ultra-violent discourse of populism. Based on Philip K Dick's short story, TOTAL RECALL is a classic sci-fi action adventure that Verhoeven created with the most amazing special effects before the CGI era, and it remains a mindbending futuristic satire that challenged notions of dreams, memories and identity.

Winner of 5 Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Director for the recently deceased Michael Cimino, THE DEER HUNTER was one of the first films to openly condemn the Vietnam War. Anchored by powerhouse performances from Robert De Niro, Meryl Streep and Christopher Walken, the film remains a crowning achievement of the New Hollywood era.
