I would love to see City of Sadness. I keep reading about this film. but I can't find a DVD of the film with English subs anywhere. Why can't Criterion release it on DVD, with their usual exemplary treatment, for English speakers? I've posted the suggestion on the Criterion website, but I have no idea who owns the rights to the film and if they are interested in having it released in the West.
