27 March 2012 (Hong Kong)－ The Exhibition Opening Ceremony for the 36th Hong Kong International Film Festival (HKIFF) Filmmaker in Focus Peter Ho-Sun Chan was held today at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre. Mr. Wilfred WONG Ying-wai, SBS, JP, Chairman of the HKIFF Society, Mr. Vincent CHEUNG, Senior Director & General Manager, Consumer Imaging & Information Group of Canon Hong Kong, the official sponsor, and Director Mr. Peter CHAN Ho-san were present to officially kick-off the event. 

Mr. Wilfred WONG Ying-wai, SBS, JP, Chairman of the HKIFF Society expressed his thanks to Peter Ho-Sun CHAN for being the HKIFF Filmmaker in Focus this year. He explained, "In this exhibition, we see the story so far of an impressive career. Peter is an artist who has worked in different cultures and environments with great success. He embodies the adaptability, versatility, creative energy and dynamism that is the essence of Hong Kong cinema and its international success. We are most honoured to pay tribute to this world class artist, and game-changer in Hong Kong and Asian cinema. His achievements are tremendous and we look forward to many more successes!". 

Peter Chan said, "I am glad to have worked in conjunction with HKIFF. I am also grateful that HKIFF will rescreen some of the films I have directed and produced. I hope that the costumes and props are being displayed during the exhibition will help ignite the passion for film art among young people." 

The Peter Ho-Sun Chan Exhibition, the largest display of his work to date, will be held at the G/F Foyer, Auditoria Building, Hong Kong Cultural Centre from 27 March to 5 April and open to public. The exhibition will present a selection of costumes and props from films he has produced and directed. The exhibition is divided into four sections, including the productions of United Filmmakers Organization (UFO), established in the early stage of Peter's career; the productions of the Applause Pictures, established in 2000; his recent China/HK co-productions and his latest film The Guillotine. The exhibition features items from various popular films such as the costumes worn by Zhou Xun in Perhaps Love, Leon Lai's bicycle from Comrades: Almost a Love Story and posters from He's a Woman, She's a Man, The Warlords and Wu Xia, alongside a selection of souvenirs and trophies. A highlight of the exhibition is the model of Central district, Hong Kong in 1906, from Bodyguards and Assassins which is being shown in Hong Kong for the first time. 

The 36th HKIFF will also screen 12 of Peter's films from different periods in tribute to one of the most influential filmmakers in the Chinese film industry. He will also attend the Jockey Club Cine Academy (JCCA)'s Face to Face session on April 3 to share his insights on film, art and life with the audience.  | 第 36屆 香 港 國 際 電 影 節 呈 獻

2012年 3月 27日 (香 港 ) -第 36屆 香 港 國 際 電 影 節 （ 「 電 影 節 」 ） 焦 點 影 人 陳 可 辛 展 覽 開 幕 典 禮 ， 今 日 假 香 港 文 化 中 心 演 藝 大 樓 隆 重 舉 行 。 香 港 國 際 電 影 節 協 會 主 席 王 英 偉 太 平 紳 士 、 大 會 贊 助 佳 能 香 港 有 限 公 司 影 像 信 息 消 費 產 品 市 場 部 香 港 高 級 總 監 及 總 經 理 張 立 基 先 生 及 陳 可 辛 導 演 亦 現 身 會 場 為 展 覽 進 行 剪 綵 儀 式 ， 為 本 屆 焦 點 影 人 活 動 揭 開 序 幕 。

陳 可 辛 表 示 ： 「 很 高 興 能 與 香 港 國 際 電 影 節 合 作 ， 並 感 謝 電 影 節 再 次 將 我 曾 執 導 及 監 製 的 部 份 作 品 重 新 放 映 。 是 次 展 覽 把 很 多 珍 貴 道 具 及 戲 服 悉 數 展 出 ， 可 以 讓 影 迷 更 了 解 電 影 背 後 的 點 滴 ， 大 大 提 升 年 輕 人 對 電 影 文 化 的 興 趣 。 」 

陳 可 辛 展 覽 假 香 港 文 化 中 心 演 藝 大 樓 地 下 大 堂 舉 行 ， 由 3月 27日 至 4月 5日 ， 為 期 十 天 開 放 予 公 眾 參 觀 。 今 次 活 動 屬 陳 可 辛 首 個 大 型 個 人 展 ， 將 會 悉 數 展 出 陳 可 辛 曾 執 導 及 監 製 的 電 影 中 出 現 過 的 道 具 及 戲 服 ， 展 覽 共 分 四 個 部 份 ， 分 別 為 他 早 期 成 立 的 UFO電 影 公 司 的 製 作 、 2000年 成 立 的 Applause公 司 的 出 品 、 大 中 華 時 期 的 電 影 及 最 新 電 影 《 血 滴 子 》 。 其 中 包 括 一 些 膾 炙 人 口 的 展 品 如 ： 《 如 果 · 愛 》 裡 周 迅 的 戲 服 、 《 甜 蜜 蜜 》 裡 黎 明 的 單 車 、 《 金 枝 玉 葉 》 、 《 投 名 狀 》 及 《 武 俠 》 的 海 報 等 。 同 場 亦 會 展 出 陳 可 辛 經 典 電 影 的 珍 藏 紀 念 品 及 獎 座 。 而 《 十 月 圍 城 》 中 重 新 搭 建 的 1906年 中 環 舊 城 街 景 ， 其 製 作 模 型 亦 會 首 次 在 港 展 出 。 

第 36屆 香 港 國 際 電 影 節 亦 將 會 放 映 12部 陳 可 辛 不 同 年 代 執 導 及 監 製 的 電 影 ， 向 這 位 影 響 深 遠 的 電 影 人 致 敬 ， 而 4月 3日 的 「 賽 馬 會 電 影 學 堂 」 香 港 名 家 講 座 ， 屆 時 陳 可 辛 將 會 出 席 與 觀 眾 分 享 創 作 心 得 。

陳 可 辛 早 在 上 世 紀 90年 代 就 以 監 製 /導 演 的 雙 重 身 份 進 入 電 影 界 。 首 作 《 雙 城 故 事 》 (1991)獲 得 多 項 大 獎 ； 之 後 陳 可 辛 自 己 組 建 的 UFO電 影 公 司 更 是 出 品 了 一 系 列 膾 炙 人 口 叫 好 叫 座 的 電 影 ， 比 如 ： 《 風 塵 三 俠 》 (1993)、 《 金 枝 玉 葉 》 (1994)和 《 甜 蜜 蜜 》 (1997)。 

2000年 ， 陳 可 辛 成 立 了 Applause公 司 ， 旨 在 集 合 亞 洲 各 國 優 秀 的 創 作 者 和 投 資 者 ， 聯 合 制 作 針 對 「 泛 亞 洲 」 市 場 的 高 水 準 電 影 。 Applause連 續 出 品 了 《 晚 孃 》 、 《 春 逝 》 、 《 見 鬼 》 系 列 、 《 三 更 》 、 《 三 更 2》 、 《 金 雞 》 、 《 金 雞 2》 和 《 春 田 花 花 同 學 會 》 等 。 

2005年 ， 陳 可 辛 決 定 進 軍 日 漸 成 熟 的 內 地 市 場 。 製 作 包 括 《 如 果 · 愛 》 、 《 投 名 狀 》 、 《 十 月 圍 城 》 及 《 武 俠 》 等 ， 現 時 正 集 合 《 十 月 圍 城 》 一 眾 幕 後 精 英 班 底 ， 監 製 一 部 新 型 偶 像 的 古 裝 動 作 片 《 血 滴 子 》 。
