利維特的神秘國度：氹氹轉、幻愛鐘情

利維特的「平行生命四部曲」，上期放映了兩部，今期繼續。話說拍完《日月女神》和《公主復仇記》後，四部曲本來難產，第三部《瑪莉與朱利安》才剛開拍，利維特已精神透支，只好腰斬。取而代之的，是幾年後的《氹氹轉》以及廿多年後的《幻愛鐘情》。

《氹氹轉》有最遊戲的利維特，讓《巴黎最後探戈》的瑪莉亞雪妮黛浪遊，也有安地華荷愛將祖戴力山曹的迷幻演出，拍攝期間男女主角在鏡頭後又愛又恨，一個濫藥一個辭演，卻造就了幕前的美麗片段。《幻愛鐘情》填補了《瑪莉與朱利安》沒有完成的遺憾，《不羈的美女》艾曼妞琵雅繼續擔當女神，利維特明言電影有尚高克多的影子，也跟愛倫坡及《迷魂記》有著一定淵源。

Jacques Rivette: MERRY-GO-ROUND and THE STORY OF MARIE AND JULIEN

After showcasing the 1st and 2nd instalments of Jacques Rivette's "Scènes de la vie parallèle" in our last edition, Cine Fan continues to present the remaining two films. Upon his recovery after a nervous breakdown when filming THE STORY OF MARIE AND JULIEN with Albert Finney and Leslie Caron, Rivette made MERRY-GO-ROUND instead. And then 22 years later, he returned to THE STORY OF MARIE AND JULIEN.

Filled with some of the most bewildering and beautifully composed alternate reality sequences in Rivette's work, MERRY-GO-ROUND tells the story of two people wandering the French countryside in search of their elusive girlfriend and sister. In THE STORY OF MARIE AND JULIEN, Rivette created a strange and passionate love affair between a clockmaker and a woman he's met a year before. Featuring Emmanuelle Beart from LA BELLE NOISEUSE, this compelling film about the power of love against the fear of death becomes the most accomplished and mesmerizing film of the tetralogy.
