修復經典：大理石人、鐵人

很多人以為能避開政治，但其實沒有人能置身事外。波蘭導演華意達的兩部經典作，正好表現了他對政治與時局的敏銳觀察及反省。

《大理石人》仿如《大國民》的拼圖過程，摻入紀錄片段及人物訪談，追查國家英雄的真相，翻出當權者的謊言，尖銳批判極權的意識形態控制，實在是波蘭電影的里程碑傑作。

續集《鐵人》更是世所罕見，與現實正在發生的群眾抗爭運動連成一體，控訴共產政權的新聞封鎖與言論箝制，既為歷史留下紀錄（由後來當上總統的工會領袖華里沙演回自己），又別具冷靜批判，當年就摘下了康城影展金棕櫚大獎。

Restored Classics: MAN OF MARBLE and MAN OF IRON

Polish master filmmaker Andrzej Wajda creates a fascinating study of political opportunism, character analysis and the filmmaking process under communism with MAN OF MARBLE and MAN OF IRON.

Often described as the "Polish CITIZEN KANE", MAN OF MARBLE is regarded as a landmark film in the history of Polish cinema, and also one of the most compelling attacks on government corruption ever made. Wajda's fictional narrative progresses through aggressive, cinema-verite style filmmaking that deconstructs a fabricated political icon from the illusion of a national hero to a common man.

MAN OF IRON is a distinctive sequel that blends actual newsreel footage of the Solidarity movement, with an arresting drama of a journalist's crisis of conscience. Wajda provides another rich glimpse of life in Poland under communist regime, which is also an indelible capsule that won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival.
